Abstract
This chapter, together with Chap. 3, is the central part of the book. Here we introduce the TQED model. It may be viewed as a fault model, but also as a handy tool for boosting the tester’s creativity when designing the tests. We explain the origins of the model (inspired by physics), its structure, and its components. We also show how the model can be used as a generator of test approaches or even test design techniques. Finally, we give a concrete example of using the TQED model in practice.
