What kinds of questions—textual, historical, conceptual, methodological—are being posed at the point of intersection between queer studies and the fields of children’s literature, childhood studies, the history of childhood, and early modern studies? To what kinds of objects—textual, archival, material, human—are they being addressed? This chapter reflects on these questions, exploring the possibilities and challenges inherent in the project of queering early modern childhoods that are indicated by the chapters gathered here, and considering what future directions this work may take.
