PET/CT in Lung Cancer

Abstract

[18F] 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (18F-FDG) PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) is a non-invasive imaging modality which combines metabolic and anatomic information in evaluation of cancer. This is a useful imaging modality for staging of lung cancer, treatment response evaluation, radiotherapy planning, restaging and in prognostication of lung cancer. In this chapter we shall discuss these roles of 18F-FDG PET/CT in management of lung cancer.
