Abstract
The chapter provides comprehensive assessment techniques in relation to race, gender, sexual orientation, class, disability/impairment, age, religion, language, region, and multiple identities and their intersections. It illustrates how by providing specific examples. The chapter discusses the foundation for accurate assessment which is formulated by integrating linear and nonlinear, affective and cognitive, and scientific and clinical inquiry. The importance of the intake being taken by the provider who is going to provide therapy is emphasized since the intake provides rich text for treatment strategy. It reveals the client’s worldview, problem-solving strategies, values and beliefs, etc.
