Abstract

We discuss the ideas of Leibniz on complexity and developments three centuries later. Among the topics considered: What is an appropriate mathematical framework for thinking about biology? We propose studying the evolution of mutating software. Originally presented at a Turin meeting Leibniz’s Visions Three Centuries After.

Talk presented at the Leibnizfest at the University of Turin in Italy on November 14, 2016, the three-hundredth anniversary of the death of the polymath.
