Abstract
A vertical wall and a horizontal floor meet at the point X. A vertical ladder AB is standing against the wall. A cat jumps onto it and sits at its midpoint C. This causes the ladder to move, with its apex A sliding along the wall down towards the floor, and its bottom B sliding along the floor away from the wall.
