Abstract
Juvenile xanthogranuloma is a common benign non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis clinically characterized by yellow, orange, red, or brown papulonodular lesions which may be single or multiple and vary in size. Dermatoscopy is useful for the differential diagnosis with a variety of skin growths. The main dermatoscopic finding is the presence of a homogeneous orange-yellowish hue (“setting sun” appearance) surmounted by linear and branched vessels. In addition, especially on regressive lesions, paler yellow globules can be observed.
