Abstract

The Obama administration acknowledged that securitization of Islam was wrong and that it threatened America and world peace and stability. They decided to desecuritize Islam and bring it back to the abode of politics, although it remained so only in discourse. With the election of President Trump, Islam and Muslims have been resecuritized like never before. The election of President Trump gave a platform to alternative, far-right, conspiracy-driven pundits and media, who determine the US foreign policy today.
