Abstract

Electric power steering (EPS) is a new technical application on steering system. And EPS is one superior technique which supply power to steering system of automobile with motor directly. Based on industrial personal computer (IPC), this paper introduces the hardware structure and operating principle of EPS test system. The control software for the system is developed using visual basic language. EPS test system adapts IPC as the main control system, combined with data acquisition card, motion control card and timer/counter card for automatic control and data acquisition. Also, the EPS system tests are carried out and the corresponding performance parameters are determined in this paper. The result reveals that EPS test system is capable of carrying out accurate EPS performance testing.
