Abstract
Mechanical elements present internal stresses known as residual stresses, the effect that residual stresses can play an important role in the design of machines and mechanical components. Effects of mechanical vibrations on 1045 steel beams specimen subjected to different fields of residual stresses with and without previous history are investigated; the modal study is done through direct measurements with the use of piezoelectric sensors and by finite element method.
