Abstract
The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) continues to expand in the long term care setting. Part of this expansion, is the growth of quality improvement to meet regulatory compliance. With LPNs leading in the care of the aging population within the long term care setting, it is no surprise that LPNs need to understand quality improvement and their leadership role to ensure quality and safety. Understanding quality improvement and safety begins with understanding the role of QSEN in this process.
