Abstract

Deep in the middle of the forest in a little cottage made out of moss, dry hay, and green oak leaves, there was a bear, a wolf, and a fox who lived peacefully and happily together. They were good comrades, and they got up in the evening and went to bed in the morning. They ate meat, drank milk, nibbled honey, played, and sang together. And even when they chanced to quarrel with the moon every now and then because they were in a bad mood, their quarrel never ended catastrophically, for the moon never answered them rudely. In general, the three friends led a pleasant life.
