New particles and new theories: 1932-1933

While, as we have just seen, experimental activity was beginning to take shape in the Nuclear Physics field in Rome, and more generally in Italy, at an international level already from early 1932 great progress was being made in this field, both experimentally and theoretically. This however does not seem to have affected research carried out in Rome apart from a theoretical study on the positron carried out by Fermi during a visit to the United States, which we will discuss in the next paragraph.
