Abstract
Tumor deposits have been evaluated in different types of carcinomas including colorectal, gastric, head, and neck carcinomas. However, there is little information about the tumor deposits in esophageal carcinomas.
In this chapter, morphological and molecular classifications and prognostic factors in esophageal carcinomas are briefly summarized, and the sparse information about the TDs in esophageal carcinomas in literature is presented. TDs seem to be poor prognostic factors in adenocarcinomas of the gastroesophageal junction. However, the data in the literature is rather sparse for strict conclusions. The lack of information about TDs in ESCC cases is highlighted.
