Characterization of Steel S355 Electron Beam Welded (EBW) Joints

Abstract
A low-alloyed structural steel S355 is chosen as the base material (BM) to produce electron beam welded butt joints. During the electron beam welding process, the welding parameters were adjusted in order to get sound welded joints without surface pores or microcrack defects.
