New Activities For Cultural Heritage

Abstract

The aim of the research concerns the validation of three-dimensional models obtained by scientific surveys and advanced modeling, in the context of augmented reality for the valorisation of the cultural heritage. In particular, the present paper is part of a wider research in order to document and study, in a historical-critical way, the ancient Roman city of Tusculum (south-east of Rome). This work deals with issues related to the virtual use of archaeological sites and of their cultural enrichment by digital content. The creation of a reliable and accurate infographic database allowed, therefore, to obtain virtual models of the reality that can be used both to improve the usability of the site and for scientific and research purposes.
