Abstract

This chapter can be seen as a continuation of the chapter concerning vectors. It will introduce so-called matrices (especially rotation matrices), which can be used to provide elegant descriptions of rotations in the plane, as well as in three-dimensional space. Naturally, we will often speak of congruence motions, which are the subject of kinematics.
