Abstract

This paper deals with the scheduling and routing problem in a Home Service organization, and we are more particularly interested in a real case problem, taking place in Bourgoin Jallieu (France). The aim of this work is to create a decision support tool to help the planners improving an existing planning. Many constraints must be taken into account, as legislation, competences or preferences. The planners face two key challenges: minimizing the travel time of the employees, and replacing an absence. For the first one, we propose a local search heuristic, and for the second one, we develop a dedicated heuristic. A tool with these two proposals has been implemented and has been tested with real data.
