Abstract
An Eco Learning Factory is currently being established at an academic institution with the goal to investigate energy management approaches for SME production companies. The article describes a novel conceptual data model and energy data management approaches that are being developed for this factory. The implementation of these approaches is based on the use of an extensible commercial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and a novel easy to deploy sensor-based energy measurement solution that enables energy consumption measurements for machines without integrated energy meters.
