Abstract

The developed magnetic measurement system was used to measure the SIS100 dipole magnets. A method was developed to construct elliptical cylindrical multipoles based on a set of rotating coil probe measurements. The results are presented together with the calculation procedure. Furthermore formulae are derived which allow deducing the coefficients of the toroidal circular multipoles from rotating coil probe measurements. These equations are then used to derive a criteria for the length of a measurement coil probe.
