Abstract

The publication discusses the important issues that relate to the processing of large amounts of data associated with the genome. The statistics of gene content of the human genome is demonstrated. Article also presents the most important information about how the proteins are stored in the DNA code and the process of the RNA transcription, splicing and protein translation. This is followed by description of practical algorithm for searching protein and pattern matching in the DNA code given complete genome and protein data.
