Abstract
This chapter gives information about the materials used to prepare jute/green epoxy composites. The methods used to prepare nanocellulose and pulverized jute fibers (PJF) from waste jute are elaborated. Different novel fiber treatment methods for surface treatment are introduced. The chapter further goes with different techniques for characterization of fibers, i.e., scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). After that, standards adopted for mechanical and thermomechanical testing of prepared composites are described and the way to fit the creep data with different creep models is presented.
