Right Ventricular Failure in Patients Undergoing LVAD Placement

Abstract

Right ventricular dysfunction and failure is a relatively common complication of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Prevention and treatment of this condition include preoperative optimization as well as postoperative modalities, including percutaneous and surgical mechanical support devices.
