The chapter then considers the strategic and policy implications of the argument defended throughout the book, providing examples of trade-offs and dilemmas facing reconstruction and higher education planners, and calls for a more strategic approach to better harness the potential of the sector to support more effective post-conflict recovery. The chapter concludes with recommendations for future areas of research on the neglected yet crucially important area of higher education and post-conflict recovery.
