Abstract
In keeping with the dialogic communication that provides the impetus for this book‚ this chapter considers the ways in which Chaps. 2 and 3 speak to each other and discusses how the author relates to these texts as a South African (now a Canadian permanent resident) whose political life in South Africa was focused on the Gay Liberation Movement and whose academic life revolved around teaching English literature from the perspectives of literary theory, specifically feminism.
