Abstract
Chiari malformation, basilar impression and Rathke’s cleft cysts are congenital disorders at the skull base that can become of therapeutical relevance if clinical symptoms occur. Surgery is the only treatment option in all cases. The indication for treatment is mainly focused on clinical complaints and the consecutive effect on the patient’s quality of life. CT and MR imaging findings determine the kind of surgical procedure.
