Abstract
The examination conducted thus far gives insight into many functions. The first impression and the comprehensive examination of the hand and the wrist provide information on local or systemic abnormalities of the blood, skin, joints, endocrine glands, cardiorespiratory functions, and neurologic systems. With studied practice of already-noted functions, the clinician may be able to quickly determine the urgency of care. Certainly, a careful look with palpation of the hands and wrists is a well-invested minute for starting every physical examination.
