Abstract
The chapter begins with assessment of the ease of breathing and the patterns of respiration. An efficient method of percussion is proposed in addition to an organized sequence of auscultation. Included for reference are definitions of the various qualities of breath sounds.
A section addresses chest pain in a systematic approach, citing the regions of origin from skin to lungs and the heart. There is a short version of the breast examination intended mainly for identifying gynecomastia, not for the comprehensive examination appropriate when other breast diseases are suspected.
