John Keats’s ‘Guy’s Hospital’ Poetry

Abstract

John Keats’s poetic and medical careers overlapped from the start. His earliest surviving poem is his ‘Imitation of Spenser’, dating from 1814 when he was apprenticed to the surgeon-apothecary Thomas Hammond at Edmonton.
