Summary
This chapter deals with the scientific rationale which underpins a new procedure for the treatment of severe knee osteoarthritis, namely, a combination of intra-articular and intraosseous injections of Platelet Rich Plasma. Intraarticular infiltration of platelet rich plasma is a promising treatment for knee osteoarthritis, but it still has some therapeutic limitations in severe osteoarthritis.
