Summary
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a mechanically induced, cytokine and enzyme-mediated disorder with different biochemical, inflammatory, and genetic signatures undergoing distinct phases and phenotypes, and encompassing all joint tissues, with pain and inflammation as the clinical and biochemical hallmarks of the disease.
