Abstract

Three new important guidelines and a revised global consensus on menopause management were recently published:

  • NICE: National Institute for Care and Health Excellence

  • ESHRE: European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology

  • IMS: International Menopause Society (Baber and Panay, Climacteric 19(2):109–150, 2016)

    • 2016 IMS Recommendations on Women’s Mid-Life Health and Menopause Hormone Therapy (Baber and Panay, Climacteric 19(2):109–150, 2016)

  • Revised Global Consensus Statement: Panay

    • On Menopause Hormone Therapy (de Villiers et al., Climacteric 19(4):313–315, 2016)

There is still a lack of evidence-based information reaching healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the field of menopause medicine. These new guidelines and recommendations have added constructively to pre-existing information, thus facilitating healthcare professionals in their management of the menopause. Each one of these new guidelines will continue to support HCPs in different and yet complimentary ways, and the global consensus will give confidence to HCPs that their practice is supported by respected menopause societies globally.
