Abstract

The surgical robot was approved for use in hernia repair in the United States in 2014. Since then there has been a rapid adoption of this tool for hernia repair. This chapter provides a step-by-step approach to its use for incisional hernia repair. Trocar placement, suturing, mesh placement, and fixation are described. Surgeons will find this chapter very helpful to develop their skills on the robot to repair incisional hernias.
