Problems in Classical Electromagnetism

Abstract

Let us consider a cylinder of relative magnetic permeabilty \(\mu _\mathrm{r}\), located in a uniform magnetic field \(\mathbf {B}_0\) parallel to the cylinder axis, and the analogous problem of a cylinder of relative electric permittivity \(\varepsilon _\mathrm{r}\) located in a uniform electric field \(\mathbf {E}_0\) parallel to the cylinder axis. In both cases the cylinder has radius a an height h.
