Modelling Pulsar Wind Nebulae

Part of the book series: Astrophysics and Space Science Library ((ASSL,volume 446))

Abstract

The Crab, both pulsar and nebula, is one of the most studied astrophysical objects. This chapter reviews our knowledge of the system, as observed at different frequencies. It pays special attention to the flare phenomenology, and the information carried by polarization measurements.
