Abstract

Barrett’s esophagus (BE) is known to be a precursor for esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). Endoscopic screening and surveillance are developed to identify changes (dysplasia) in the mucosa, which can lead to the development of EAC. In this chapter we discuss various methods used in the diagnosis and surveillance of BE and also the role of endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resection and dissection, and other therapies used in BE.
