“Schopenhauer and British Literary Feminism ” demonstrates the extent to which Schopenhauer’s reception was shaped by British women writers, revealing the surprising appeal of the philosopher’s ideas for Victorian novelists reconceptualizing female desire, sexuality, and agency.
