Abstract
This chapter examines past and current realities of higher education in Africa and the effects of international scholarships on African nationals. Three esteemed experts and pioneers were interviewed to provide context and insights on policies, trends, and make recommendations for the future. Understanding that education, and in particular higher education, is a critical component of youth and economic development to spur social change, the chapter weaves in the complex challenges and emerging opportunities that many educational institutions face in the provision of equitable and quality education in Africa.
