Abstract
Care for the obstetrical patient in the postoperative period does not differ from the care provided to nonobstetrical patients with the exception of the concern for fetal well-being. The general recommendations for fetal monitoring after a surgical procedure are essentially the same as those for monitoring prior to or during the operation.
