Abstract

This critique identifies the key concepts through which Christian, Manning, Fernandez-Armesto, Ansary, and Gabitov have woven world historical narratives and the themes through which Peter Stearns, Merry Wiesner-Hanks, and Candice Goucher have cross-sectioned world history. The essay highlights the commonalities between the eight authors and points towards the innovations that the “global turn” entails.
