Abstract

Reflecting on the notion of globalization and the central role that translation processes and products play in the dynamic of globalized events, the chapter outlines the framework within which chapters in Parts II and III are to be understood. The chapter connects the interdisciplinary nature of the volume with that of translation studies as a field and provides an elaborate description of the different chapters, emphasizing the role of translators as agents of text negotiation and text transformation.
