Abstract

This chapter describes how corruption has penetrated all levels of government and everyday life in Russia and its consequences. An independent expert from RosBusinessConsulting (RBC) magazine identified law enforcement agencies (including the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate) as collectively the most corrupt institution in Russia, followed by healthcare, education, housing and communal services, and social security services. The governmental activities most associated with corruption are:
