Abstract

Jugular paragangliomas are the most common tumors found in the jugular foramen. They produce symptoms related to the involvement of nearby structures, including the vestibular system, auditory apparatus, and lower cranial nerves. As definitive diagnosis is based on more than clinical assessment alone, other malignancies and masses should be included in the differential diagnosis. This chapter will outline the clinical characteristics of jugular paragangliomas and the differential diagnoses that must be considered.
