Abstract

How and why do cities change? How should cities change? These are questions that great minds have grappled with since the most prominent architect and engineer of Ancient Rome, Vitruvius, strolled the cardo and the decumanus—the main streets of his cityon his way to meet with contemporaries in the forum.
