Abstract

There are many methods for the service life estimation of the contact surfaces. The life of the cam mechanisms is commonly estimated theoretically. Experimental testing of the rolling contact fatigue is time consuming and this article deals with the description of the most suitable methods for a fast and easy assessment of rolling contact fatigue. This information can lead to understanding and explaining what happens when rolling contact fatigue occurs.
