Abstract
Navicular fractures may be seen in isolation or as components of more complex midfoot injuries. An appreciation of the anatomy and function of the navicular, and of the associated neurovascular structures in the region, allows for safe surgical treatment in indicated cases. Stable fixation can involve various treatment strategies. Surgical techniques may include temporization or early fixation, joint-stabilizing techniques as well as plate and screw fixation, and arthrodesis when appropriate.
