Abstract
The article describes the features of the application of 3D-models in the design and development of RLCP-compatible virtual laboratories for interactive practical exercises in MOOC giving an example of laboratory devoted to the gradient descent method (backtracking line search) to define a multivariable function. Also features of application of the virtual laboratory in visualizer mode to preview and preliminary theoretical training of students are described. The article also shows the results of a study on pilot application of the developed virtual laboratory in practical training of the discipline “Methods of optimization”. It is shown that the use of 3D-models and the implementation of the visualizer mode helps to achieve better learning outcomes (a 10% correct answers increase, significant reduction of the execution time and number of the attempts at the assessment).
