Abstract
Flaps that move about a pivot point are considered with historical and modern-day application. Rotation flaps are best designed to be large and to fit into the triangulated defect. Spare skin in the loco-regional anatomical area is exploited for this purpose. Advancement can be combined with the rotation concept of flap transfer, either as a true combined geometry or as combination flaps.
