Abstract

In this chapter, Bazbauers concludes the book by reflecting on the importance of World Bank technical assistance to understanding international development assistance, global governance, and transnational policy transfer processes in the twenty first century. The chapter recounts the main lessons learned from analysing technical assistance components, stand-alone projects, survey missions, and training institutes to the ambition of shining new light on the complex relationships between lenders and recipients. In this way, the final chapter not only summarises the conclusions of the book, but also highlights its utility and importance to the contemporary practice of international development assistance.
