Abstract

The research is part of a larger study on the complete work of Antonio Lasciac, an architect from Gorizia, not well-known in Italy but with a large professional experience in Egypt. The study presented here has dealt with the analysis of the house that he designed for himself in the hills of Rafut on the border between Italy and Slovenia. In particular, in addition to the historical-biographical analysis on his work, we decided to study the villa especially through the investigation of some characteristic elements, partly not accessible directly, using digital numerical photogrammetry as a survey tool and stereometric modeling.

Acknowledgment

The research was developed at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste, partly inside a PhD program. Chapter 1 and 2 were written by Diego Kuzmin, who studied Antonio Lasciac’s works also for his PhD thesis in Engineering and Architecture, while chapter 3 and 4 were written by Paola Cochelli and Alberto Sdegno, as part of the PhD work in progress by P. Cochelli, who is actually a PhD student in Civil-Environment Engineering and Architecture at the University of Trieste-University of Udine. The drawing of Fig. 3 is conserved in the Archivio di Stato in Gorizia.
